SDG City Roadmap, SDG City Maturity Model, and SDG City Index planned
(Davos). During this years SDG Lab the latest results of the SDG Commitment Report were presented. Since 10 years the largest blue chips were analysed based on their legal binding annual reports how they report regarding their SDG commitment. At the top ended French Schneider Electic, followed by Heidelberg Materials as well as Alliance SE (see attachment). The research was conducted by the Value Balancing Alliance, Effectual, Media Tenor International and UNGSII Foundation.
As one of the key results in order to fast-track SDG Implementation on a global scale, UNSGII Foundation and Project Austin announce a partnership to collaborate on the development of the SDG City Index, SDC City Maturity Model, and SDG City Roadmap using Project Austin capabilities in AI, quantum, supercomputing, and digital twin solutions. Project Austin is a next generation applied research and commercialization consortium focus on advancing integrated solutions across energy systems, AI, digital systems, human health and mobility technologies, and critical infrastructure.
The index, maturity model, and roadmap will leverage Project Austin’s advanced asset mapping, supercomputing, modelling, simulating, testing, optimization, and certification frameworks. The team goal will be to show the progress of many cities by Davos 2027 towards SDG 2030 goals and build an execution ecosystems to help cities in their journey.
“This collaboration transforms the SDGs from static goals into living, measurable systems. Using digital twins, AI, supercomputing, and advanced asset mapping, we will allow cities to simulate scenarios, optimize investments, and track real progress in real time. The SDG City Index, SDG City Maturity Model, and SDG City Roadmap will become a global benchmark for how sustainability is executed — not just reported”, explained Andres Carvallo, CEO & Founder, Project Austin.
The next UNGSII SDG Lab takes place Jan 19-23 2027.
